Underground Steam and Condensate System Replacement
The University of Delaware has a network of underground steam and condensate piping serving their campus. Much of the piping is beyond its useful life and in need of replacement. DEDC, working with the University, developed an underground steam and condensate piping replacement master plan. We have been executing underground steam and condensate replacement over a series of years. Each section of replacement requires careful planning and coordination between the engineering and design team, piping fabricator and installing contractor. The coordination is required to minimize downtime as well as minimize the impact on the campus.

Clayton School
This project constructed a new free standing 82,000 square foot, 600 student school. This $28 million facility was built to the strict energy standards of ASHRAE 90.1. Sustainable principles were utilized in the design of the mechanical systems. The HVAC system is a variable volume type with heat recovery. Radiant floor heating is selectively utilized in the building. The building exceeds the required energy standards by more than 15%.
